Named after William Shakespeare’s tragic lovers, the origins of Romeo y Julieta as a Havana date back to 1875. Winston Churchill was a devotee of the brand and, following his visit to Havana in 1946, his name has not only been commemorated on a band but also served to describe the marque’s most iconic size – Romeo y Julieta Churchills.
Upon its release in 2006 this cigar became the first medium flavoured Robusto from Cuba. This modern shape also proved an ideal way to update the famous association of the Churchill name with Havana cigars. Hardly surprising then that it has gone on to become such a huge success.
