Friday 22nd October 2021 - 7 to 9pm

Come to Caviste Newlyns and experience the massively underappreciated wines of the Alps. Taste through nine wines from Savoie, Switzerland, Austria and Italy all of which have been hand-selected to showcase the broad range of wine styles available from the region. The evening will be led by Tim Killen of Alpine Wines who brings an abundance of knowledge and passion with him.

Starting with a Crémant de Savoie which sings with fresh acidity with just the right amount of creaminess, we’ll then make our way through 4 whites featuring a wine that was favoured by Roger Moore, the Aigle Les Murailles which is packed with ripe orchard fruits with an intriguing waxy texture, as well as Gruner Veltliner with a bit of skin contact to challenge your view of the grape. We will then taste through 4 reds, included in the line-up are indigenous varieties such as Blaufrankisch, Gamaret and Garanoir, we will also see the return of the star of the virtual tasting, the Botonera Nebbiolo but we will finish an a Swiss Pinot Noir with elegance and poise to challenge the greats from Burgundy.
