South Africa's red wines can often be overlooked in the global pantheon of greats. Outside of Pinotage, sometimes it feels that that they're portrayed as an (almost) one-trick pony. Allow us to change that.

Welcome to Idun Wines. While living in Mauritius, the family travelled to the southwest coast of South Africa to scout out a special needs school for their son, Leo. On their visit, they passed through the fruitful Elgin Valley, which is famous for its outstanding wines (and its delicious apples). Captivated by their quality and potential, a meeting with local winemaker Paul Wallace inspired them to embark on a new journey.
