Alexandrine Roy, who took over from her father Marc in 2003, almost single-handedly 3.5 hectares in Gevrey-Chambertin and just half a hectare in Marsannay. Whilst her holdings are from ‘village sites’ the quality outshines many premier and grand cru wines from her neighbours. The style of these wines is both supple and accessible, assisted by 100% destemming and very gentle extraction, reducing the tannin element. Her 2016’s are exceptional.
