We bought some of 2015 Cote de Nuits Villages on recommendation, but this year was the first time we met Gérard, a bearded rather larger than life character - modest, intelligent and quick to give praise to his neighbour’s wines. I like that. But his own wines are just lovely. Ripe and luscious – wines that nobody can dislike – yet attractively priced and supported by the natural tannins of the vintage.
